The link Pathway is a 42km walking and cycling trail. The project began in 2005 to connect Havelock, Picton, Anakiwa and the end of the Queen Charlotte Track in Marlborough. Four sections of abandoned historic bridle path was re-discovered which had been constructed over 150 years ago, adding significant heritage to the pathway.
You can access the link pathway via the western end of Ngakuta Bay, which will take you to the top of the Queen Charlotte Drive. From here, you can cross the road and continue on up the track all the way to Momorangi Bay and further.
There is also access to the link pathway at the eastern end of the bay, just before the small bridge and corner on the left hand side as you come down the hill into the bay. If you take this path it will eventually lead you all the way to the Picton lookout!
Both these parts of the link pathway provide stunning views and are perfect for walking or mountain biking. The two pathways are joined by our very own Ngakuta Bay link. Take the 'golden pathway' down to the beach from the eastern end of the bay and follow the boardwalks along the foreshore. Our pathway makes a great family walk along the foreshore with little ones in pushchairs or small bikes, and is also suitable for wheelchairs.
